How It Works

Step by Step

1 - Water flows downhill, through the drive pipe, into the Hydram.
2 - The flowing water forces the Impulse valve to close, creating a pressure wave.
3 - The pressure wave travels back up the system, through the delivery valve, and is captured by the air chamber.
4 - The high pressure in the air chamber is released by pumping water out of the delivery pipe.

The pressure within the Hydram is normalised and the Impulse valve re-opens – allowing the water to flow and the cycle to repeat.
